This weekend was an exciting weekend at the box office. The holiday weekend helped rake in some moviegoers. In a surprise turn of events that I TOTALLY overlooked, Night At The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian entered the battle and dominated making $53 million while Terminator Salvation came in second with $43 million. However, my predicitions weren't fully off. Star Trek managed to outmatch Angels & Demons this week by a narrow million-dollar margin making $22 million in its third week. And X-Men Origins: Wolverine got beat this week by Dance Flick. It's safe to say Wolverine will be on DVD within a couple months or so at this point.
I saw both Terminator Salvation and Night at the Museum over the weekend. I liked Terminator Salvation better only because I was in the mood for some hardcore action this weekend, but Night at the Museum was definitely cool and had me rolling at some parts of the movie. Both movies were good and I'd recommend them both. But if you follow the box office bouts from the beginning you'll see I totally overlooked the kids' movie coming out this weekend and everybody knows those kids movies CRUSH the box office everytime.
With that said, round four of the box office bouts will be between this week's winner Night at the Musuem: Battle of the Smithsonian and Pixar's Up! Pixar is known for taking the box office by storm and this movie is said to be one of the best ever. I'm going to see it myself but I'm gonna act like I'm doing my niece a favor lol!
